Shade Corruption is an indicate of how much a character is under the shade's influence. It usually has a negative impact on the character. However, some of the craziest people in this world may learn methods to harvest the power of the shade.

When your group is resting, you may be attacked by a shade nightmare.

The chance of being attacked and the power of the nightmare is scaled by the total shade corruption level of your entire group.
Max Sanity Lose
A character's max sanity is reduced for every 2 points of shade corruption unless this character is considered as a shade creature.
Shade Corruption >= 2
If your main character loses all sanity, it will lead to a game over.
