Enemies need to pass a secret dice roll against your group's average sneak skill level to detect you. If they fail to detect you, everyone in your group gains some sneak skill experience. By default, every 1 level of your group's average sneak skill level makes enemies 1% harder to detect you. By default, you always have at least a 5% chance of not being detected in each check. When enemies detect you, you may also have a small chance to gain some sneak experience. |
